Mobile telecommunications continues to be an evolving, developing industry, shaped by technology, commercial and regulatory infl uences. Mobile roaming is no exception and mobile operators need to be aware of the national and international environment in which they operate to anticipate change and recognise opportunities.

In recent years the rate of globalisation and change in the mobile industry has accelerated, with developments in radio technology, mobile ecosystems and spectrum liberalisation leading to new regulatory dynamics. These changes are not always clear or recognised.

By attending this workshop fi nd out the regulatory trends that are infl uencing and being infl uenced by technology and commercial developments in the mobile industry. Find out what options are available to mobile operators and the possible regulatory approaches that administrations may take.

Greg has worked in the mobile industry for over 16 years. He is currently head of Standards and Regulatory Strategy in Vodafone Hutchison Australia. He has had roles in performance management, network engineering, project management, product development, contract development, strategic planning and standards co-ordination.

Greg’s academic qualifi cations include Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Law.

Kazi has been working in mobile industry over 8 years. He was instrumental in growing Grameenphone’s roaming coverage from 100 roaming partners to 400 roaming partners. He is currently the DGM & head of International Roaming in Grameenphone Bangladesh. His responsibility includes the overall revenue generation from International Roaming (IR); Overall operations, Business development, planning & formulation of strategies to attain goals for international roaming. Kazi is the primary contact point of Grameenphone with GSMA. He is a regular participant at global events like BARG & ROAMFEST.

Some important projects led by Kazi: GPRS roaming, NRTRDE, CAMEL, SMS Hub, Aero mobile & Maritime roaming.

Kazi holds a Master of Business Administration; majored in Marketing.
