Naval officers in charge of different aspects of ensuring maritime security often face time and coordination challenges amongst various teams tasked for specific duties. Not just technical aspects, but issues of training, optimum patrol activity coordination, littoral security and of course, surveillance and intelligence collection.
The workshop will try to cover the different aspects of coastal surveillance, including:
- Developing a roadmap for an integrated MDA project stresses and strains: Discussing the new challenges in the maritime space, including environmental spills and threats to fisheries
- Challenges to operational efficiency: Discussing current inter agency collaboration efforts in place
- Technical upgrades: Debating between payload upgrade vs platform upgrade
- Understanding how to fit local requirements with global COTS products
