Australian Shaft Drilling Website: www.australianshaftdrilling.com
LARGE DIAMETER SHAFT DRILLING
Australian Shaft Drilling (ASD) is an Australian owned and operated shaft construction company utilising the blind shaft drilling method to service both mining and civil projects where vertical, medium to large diameter shafts are required. The company was formed in 2003 with a vision to provide a safer and more reliable way of boring large diameter shafts. ASD has made an impact in the market by providing a safe alternative to conventional shaft sinking methodologies.
Blind Shaft Drilling can provide fast, safe and cost effective solutions in the following applications:
Advantages of blind shaft drilling over other shaft construction methods include:
Timing
Shafts may be planned ahead of time and construction completed prior to the underground accessing the area, thus giving the full use of the shaft in the earliest possible timeframe.
Safety
Blind shaft drilling provides the safest method of shaft development. All operations are conducted from the surface reducing the level of exposure to workers. Since inception ASD has operated over 2350 days without an LTI and has a current MTIFR rate of 6.08 per million man hours. (Current at August 2010).
