A Comprehensive Analysis of Strategies to Efficiently Manage Oil and Gas Assets

Only a few weeks left – secure your seat today!

Many oil and gas assets around the world are operating beyond their initially anticipated design life and the situation in the Asian region is no different. It is a big challenge for oil and gas operators to make these assets sustainable and make sure they operate efficiently till they exhaust reserves. Coping with aging assets is proving to one of the biggest challenges that the industry faces.

Food for thought:

  • The Gulf of Mexico oil spill disaster costs are estimated to be USD 40 billion dollars
  • A majority percentage of infrastructure in Asia Pacific are already beyond their design life
  • A strategy to tackle corrosion in assets, especially in pipelines is still missing

Oil and gas operators continue to believe that maintaining the integrity of assets still does not deserve the respect it does yet. And it is high time the operators looked into it to avoid further disasters.

After speaking to over 100 experts in the industry and on the basis of first hand operator's perspective from PETRONAS, one of the leading operators in the region, Energy IQ understands the challenges towards achieving an efficient asset management strategy. To address these challenges, we bring together, for the first time in Asia, expert opinions from leading oil and gas / petroleum operators across the globe at Asset Integrity Management Asia

Dear Delegates,
Greetings from PETRONAS.

This year, PETRONAS, the Malaysian National Oil Company, is partnering with International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC) to bring you the 1st Asset Integrity Management Summit Asia in October 2011, in Kuala Lumpur. It is with the intention that this sets the tone for similar discussions in the region for many years to come.

In Collaboration withpetranos

From the CEOs to the Managers to the Plant Workers, efficient and effective asset management is the joint responsibility of each person in the long chain of activities. To put things into perspective, about 50% of topside structures and 45% of pipelines in Malaysia have been operating for more than 25 years. In light of this, a holistic approach in terms of asset integrity management is paramount to support continuous production in a safe manner, which requires high facility uptime.

It is our aspiration through this inaugural event, to share the concerns, explore ideas and solicit experiences with key players around the region. This will serve as a great opportunity for delegates to discuss potential strategies on the following:

  • Current asset management programs from leading oil & gas operators across Asia
  • Holistic Asset Integrity Management system
  • Risk Based Inspection methodologies
  • Challenges, shortfalls or success stories in the journey towards establishment of Asset Integrity Management System

The conference will be complemented by an exhibition from the service industry, to showcase their capabilities in asset integrity management.

I look forward to seeing you at the event.

Thank you.
