Press Registration

Required Credentials for Press and Analysts

To qualify for a complimentary media pass for the Military Vehicles Exhibition & Conference (MVEC), the applicant must cover the industry on a regular basis by writing regular reports or publishing relevant articles on the industry that are not solicited by an exhibiting company and are not confidential. Private consultants who are paid by an individual company are not eligible for a media pass, and should request a pass from the sponsoring company. Additional information on requirements for press and analysts is as follows.

One of the following credentials must be presented in advance to the Military Vehicles Exhibition & Conference (MVEC) before press and analyst registration can be approved:

  • Trade/Business Publications; Online/News Services
  • Industry Analysts
  • Online News Outlets
  • Association Publications/Newsletters
  • Freelance Writers and Authors

Trade/Business Publications; Online/News Services

Reporters from industry trade publications, newspapers and wire services must provide a sample of an article published within the past six months that clearly displays authorship.

Industry Analysts

Writers from internationally recognized market research or financial institutions who consistently write for regularly published newsletters and/or reports must provide a sample of an industry-related report published within the past six months that clearly displays authorship.

Online News Outlets

An online news outlet must contain original news content above and beyond links, forums, troubleshooting tips and reader contributors, and have a readership of over 1,000 per month. Each news outlet must have a paid reporting staff of two or more and must post original, dated, industry-related news at least once per week.

Association Publications/Newsletters

Reporters from internationally recognized magazines, newspapers or newsletters produced by industry associations must provide an article published within the past six months. Newsletter reporters must have a registered subscriber base of at least 500.

Freelance Writers and Authors

Persons requesting freelance credentials must provide an article published within the past six months. Those who freelance occasionally and are employed by non-news organizations are not eligible for media credentials. We reserve the right to refuse media badges, without cause, during pre-registration as well as onsite media registration. Please be advised that, due to high demand, media badges are limited in number.

In accepting an IDGA press pass, the recipient agrees to abide by IDGA’s Press Policy. To request a press pass, please email alexa.deaton@idga.org with your full contact information by July 2, 2012.

Please note: We encourage all members of the press to pre-register by no later than July 2, 2012. Failure to do so may jeopardize your admittance into the event. IDGA reserves the right to refuse admittance to this event.

Meeting Space for Media Briefings

Meeting space will be available onsite for scheduled press/analyst briefings with exhibitors. Pre-reservation requests will open on June 4, 2012. More details on how to make your request and what to include will be available at this time.

The Press Room may only be used by registered press, analysts, bloggers and exhibitors when accompanied by a member of the media. For each meeting, one attendee must be registered as media (journalist/analyst/blogger) and the other must be a registered exhibitor.

Press Policy

IDGA events are not public. Press pass holders may be asked to leave at any time, for any reason, including violating the following protocol:

For admittance, media members are required to show press credentials. Members of the media without proper ID will not be admitted.

Media members must identify themselves as media at all times. That includes, but is not limited to:

  • Wearing a press badge (easily visible)
  • During Q&A, first introducing yourself as (your name), reporting for X publication. Then asking your question.
  • During interviews, formal or informal, with speakers or attendees
  • At the registration desk, before entering the banquet hall

Conference materials are not included with press passes.

Tape recording is forbidden, without prior speaker (or attendee) consent.

Media members are not to pass information to conference-producing divisions of their companies.

We kindly ask that IDGA be mentioned in any article containing information gathered at an IDGA event.

Tear sheets (article copies) and/or electronic copies of published articles should be submitted to IDGA within 30 days of the event or when article/story appears in print or online. Please send articles to Alexa Deaton at alexa.deaton@idga.org
