Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is gaining momentum throughout Europe and globally. The recent commitment from the EU for significant funding for CCS projects for 2009 is a positive step towards making carbon capture a commercial reality. 2009 brings new funding mechanisms, legislative updates, pilot projects, and developments in legal structures.
But what steps are being taken towards making CCS a commercial venture?
You are faced with significant hurdles to overcome before you can make CCS a full-scale commercial venture. Not only is there no clear legal framework for CCS activities, but the industry is still facing challenges with financing CCS projects, ensuring the technical feasibility of a running a fully integrated CCS project and the uncertainty surrounding legislation for CCS.
The 2nd Annual Carbon Capture, Storage & Transport Summit, a senior level forum that will tackle the most time-critical, commercial, technical, legislative and scientific challenges in carbon capture storage and transport implementation.
