According to the Government Accountability Office, in 2002, 70% of energy and power companies experienced some kind of severe cyber attack to either their IT or SCADA/EMS network

Securing your network system is essential. How prepared are your networks?

The Estonia crisis in spring 2007 was a clear example of the damage that can be done to vital infrastructure with effective Computer Network Attack (CNA). The military rely upon cyberspace to organise forces and conduct operations, and must be prepared to comprehend and understand the threat, take action to protect networks and decisively respond to unauthorised activity as quickly as possible.

Taking Place 31st March – 1st April 2008, DefenceIQ’s inaugural Cyber Warfare conference will bring together senior military personnel from CND and Information Assurance (IA) programmes with industry and civilian researchers to discuss the best response to emerging threats

Highlights and Key topics to be discussed at Cyber Warfare 2008 include:

  • Understanding evolving cyber threats - briefings on securing your computer system, and defence in cyber space
  • Learn from Case Studies, Lessons learnt and implications for the future from the NATO Centre of Excellence in Cooperative Cyber Defence on the Estonian crisis
  • Policy updates with the UK MoD, Estonian MoD and the New York State Office of Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Coordination (CSCIC)
  • Discuss Information Assurance – CND, technical or human challenge?

We are pleased to announce the just added briefing...

Risk Analysis and Cyber warfare

Take home new indicators of key future requirements in cyber defence, and a realistic understanding of the cyber threat faced by militaries and governments. Gain a heightened understanding of CND solutions currently debated by the military and defence departments.
