John Lemmex

CFO Covestro

John Lemmex is vice president, Chief Financial Officer, at Covestro LLC. In this role, he is

responsible for all aspects of financial management and controlling. He also serves as a

member of the company’s United States Country Council.John joined Bayer in 1987 as a

process chemist at a rubber operations plant in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. After transitioning into

a business analyst role in 1991, John embarked on a diverse career in financial management,

taking on positions of increasing responsibility in the areas of finance, controlling and

accounting. Throughout his career, John gained extensive experience in driving business

strategy, business restructuring, planning and reporting. He spent five years at the Bayer

headquarters in Leverkusen, Germany, where he led the restructuring of the Bayer Polymers

and MaterialScience controlling functions. In addition to his daily responsibilities, John plays a

role in the global Controlling Management Committee, Covestro LLC’s Corporate Compliance &

Risk Management Committee and Covestro LLC’s pension committee. He also serves on the

boards of directors for the Civic Light Opera in Pittsburgh and Blind Vision & Rehabilitation

Services.A native of Canada, John earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from McMaster

University and his master’s in business administration from Syracuse University. He also holds

a CPA from The Chartered Public Accountants Association of Ontario and a CPA from the Ohio

Society of Certified Public Accountants.
