In his intellectual property work at Starbucks, Jacobs develops
the global trademark portfolio strategy, considers trademark, copyright, and
other IP issues in the clearance of products, programs, and collateral,
oversees intellectual property disputes, and negotiates licenses. A
graduate of the University of Michigan and Columbia University School of Law,
Jacobs started his legal practice at the New York office of Hughes Hubbard
& Reed LLP and then worked for the Seattle law firm Focal PLLC before moving
to Starbucks. World Trademark Review has recognized Jacobs as a leader in
the field by including him in the inaugural listing of 2017 WTR 300: The
World’s Leading Corporate Trademark Professionals. Managing IP named
Jacobs a Corporate IP Star in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.
