COVID-Safety Plan


At Australian Healthcare Week 2021, nothing is more important than your safety. We operate in accordance with our COVID-Safety Plan and in line with the guidance of NSW Health and the International Convention Centre (ICC), Sydney.

To ensure that we can keep everyone as safe as is reasonably possible we have made some changes to the way we operate. This page provides more information on these changes, and the key features of our COVID-Safety Plan.

LATEST INFORMATION- IMPORTANT

There are currently an array of venues around NSW and Brisbane that are deemed areas of concern. Please make yourself familiar with these and the latest COVID-19 updates and guidelines here.

If you or anyone you are attending with has symptoms of COVID-19, or has visited any of the areas listed on the NSW Health website or listed on the Queensland Health website during the relevant times, please do not attend the event. 

If you are an international or interstate customer who has been impacted by travel restrictions, please reach out to our team at info@austhealthweek.com.au and one of our team members will be in touch.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THE THEATRE IF FEELING UNWELL, OR FROM AN AREA OF CONCERN.

Patrons and Exhibitors are asked to not attend the event if;

  • They have a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19.
  • They are unwell with fever or any symptoms of COVID-19 (including cough or sore throat) at the time of attending, or have been unwell within the previous 72 hours.
  • They have been to a location on a date and time that NSW Health has issued a self-isolation and get tested immediately.
  • They have been in an COVID-19 area of concern in the previous 14 days. To view areas of concern, please visit: www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates
  • They are from areas where there is local community transmission as directed by NSW Health.

If you or someone you are attending with meets the above criteria, please do not attend the event. You should stay home and follow government guidelines to isolate and get tested. There will be a virtual version of the event and exhibition called AHW @ Home running on the 30 March – 1 April which you can instead if you are unwell and unable to make the in-person event.

IMPORTANT SAFETY MEASURES

MASKS ARE RECOMMENDED

In accordance with NSW Health, masks are advised but not mandatory – if you wish to wear a mask whilst at the show, we encourage you to bring your own mask.

CAPACITY LIMITS & FLOORPLAN CONFIGURATION

IQPC will follow capacity regulations and social distancing guidelines as per NSW Health requirements. Floorplans and logistics have been updated and developed to align with current regulations.

CHECK-IN REQUIRED FOR ENTRY 

Before entering the ICC Sydney, you will be asked to check into the ICC using the Service NSW Covid-Safe QR code system. This information will be used by NSW Health authorities for contact tracing purposes if they need. At the point of registration before you enter Australian Healthcare Week, there will be contactless registration set up where you can check in and collect your name badge and lanyard.

SANITISE, SANITISE, SANITISE.

Building on from the existing high standards of cleanliness and hygiene protocols, IQPC will work closely with the venue and introduce additional safety and hygiene measures. KEEP YOUR DISTANCE

Where it’s practical to do please ensure that you keep your distance when queuing and moving throughout the exhibition halls. There will be signage throughout the event that will guide you on some ways to keep safe.

COVID MARSHALS ARE THERE TO HELP

Our COVID marshals and ushers will be on-site throughout the event to monitor everyone’s safety, and to assist you in any way they can. If you feel uncomfortable at any time, please speak to one of our friendly staff who will assist you.

NO CLOAKROOM

At this time it is not safe to offer cloakroom services. Therefore, please only bring handbags and satchels that are smaller than an A4 piece of paper to the event.

ARRIVAL TIMES & QUEUING SYSTEMS

Please note that arrival times for different customer groups will be staggered to avoid queuing and crowds. All registered patrons will have a specified arrival window. Please help us by arriving at the event at your specified time. See our arrival times here. Gathering in the registration foyer before the show is not allowed right now, so if you’re coming as a group please arrive at the event with your full party before joining the correct entry queue. When you arrive at the event, there will be queuing systems in place to help us register you and admit you into the event in a safe manner . Please arrive at the time communicated with you in your pre-arrival messaging and follow the signs and the directions of our team. As this is new to us all, please allow a little extra time before curtain up for the extra safety measures.

CONSUMING FOOD & BEVERAGE

IQPC will work closely with the venue on review of safe food service modes with additional COVID-Safe precautions. Food services operated by the ICC will be open, however consumption of food or beverage whilst standing is prohibited. For those patrons who have Food and Beverage included, break times have been allocated to different customer groups to avoid queuing and crowds at food and beverage points. AT THE END OF THE EVENT

All conferences and on-floor theatres programs have been adjusted so that each conference ends at a different time to avoid crowding. We know that you will be eager to get home, however we ask for your patience as we get everyone out in a safe and orderly manner. Once you have exited the event, we ask that you promptly move away from the exits to ensure others can exit without congestion and keep your masks on until you are able to maintain 1.5m social distancing.
