9:00 AM Modernising Victorian’s Pubic Sector Residential Aged Care with the New $55.7 Million St George’s Hospital Aged Care Facility

The Victorian Government has invested $55.7 Million to build a new 90 bed public residential aged care facility as part of St George’s Hospital in Kew. The St George’s Hospital aged care development is the first step in the State Government’s commitment to modernise out-dated public aged care homes with larger, modern and purpose-built facilities that better enable contemporary models of aged care. Learn how to:

  • Use a prerequisite to design that enables a clear vision and articulation of the person-centred model of care 
  • Change models of care with dementia-friendly purpose-built spaces that will improve resident privacy, dignity and independence 
  • Design more home-like environments with private rooms, garden outlooks and access to domestic style kitchens
