Prior to joining Actian, David worked for Attunity, the leader in real-time data integration. David led the effort to create groundbreaking data lake solutions for Ford, Caterpillar, Express Scripts, Quicken Loans and others incorporating streaming solutions to solve for business analytics delivered instantly. During Collins’ tenure, Attunity went from a virtual unknown to the market leader in real-time streaming data integration resulting in a 400% increase in market capitalization prior to Qlik’s acquisition of the company.
Prior to Attunity, Collins worked for Intel Corporation as the worldwide Director of Big Data, first for Intel’s Datacenter Software Division and finally in the Intel Software and Services Organization. In this capacity, Collins managed the go to market product strategy for both the Intel Expressway Services Gateway and API Management product lines as well as the Intel Distribution for Apache Hadoop. After Intel’s groundbreaking $720M investment in Cloudera, Collins led the sales integration and field marketing efforts for the joint effort.
David has a combined 35 years of experience in the IT industry with companies as big as Cisco and as small as a two-person start-up
Collins lives in the Chicago area and is a former member of the Metropolitan Planning Commission advising the City of Chicago on technology trends that would positively impact economic development and education. He is currently active in several non-profits supporting a variety of social concerns.
