The current crisis has disrupted many aspects of people’s social and working lives. We are practicing social distancing, we have different shopping, medical or entertainment experiences. Our modes of communication are being disrupted. We are working from home, sharing huge volumes of information through different platforms; every single action we are making now is enabled by data and generates data.

This has highlighted the importance of data and the role it plays in adapting people and organisations to the new normal. If data and technology are now so critical, the concerns over data privacy is of equal importance. And, as we will celebrate the second anniversary of GDPR in a few weeks, it is essential to understand how governed and trusted data can foster customer and employee relationships.

One can barely explain how every single aspect of the society will look like in a few months and how people and organisations will be able to manage additional uncertainties coming from other disruptors like Brexit.

The only thing we can be sure about is that data will help us to navigate through the times ahead:

  • Back in September 2019, more than half of the UK businesses were not compliant with GDPR. What are the barriers that the organisations are still facing? How to put in place a data governance strategy to drive trust?
  • How UK companies will be able to manage data flows with their customers, partners and suppliers in the EU after Brexit?
  • What are the key data transformations to do to face the new normal?
