The global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic caught the world unawares. Not only did the pandemic tax our healthcare systems in ways we couldn’t imagine, it forced businesses to adjust to a largely remote workforce, cut costs, and make very difficult decisions to stay afloat. This unprecedented time elevated the role of enterprise architects into the champions of IT as they quickly assessed their companies’ business capabilities, determined how to provide more self-service abilities to employees, cut IT costs, and ensure business continuity throughout an organization. By stepping up during this testing time EA has proven that it has the potential to engineer both future and immediate advantages for organizations.
