11:40 AM How The University Of Melbourne Is Embracing Roadmaps For Planned Service Demand Alongside More Self Sufficient Guardrails To Prepare For Unplanned Domain Requirements

The University’s EA practice is assessing how they operate as an infrastructure service to focus internally and apply delivery methodology across the ecosystem. They are introducing adapted ways of working to speed up processes with design thinking and agile methodology, heavily influencing structures with technology governance models and key roadmapping exercises. To increase departments’ awareness of how they are interacting with EA functions, they are working to improve the teams ability to demonstrate the benefits and the influence they present. Educating the educators on the value of EA is no small task:

  • Future planning to emplace guardrail standards promoting autonomy and best attempt removal of project roadblocks before they are reached
  • Allowing inroads to influence comprehensive structures and build more mature cross functional lanes for maximised efficiency
  • How to cater for BAU as well as unplanned side requests with prescribed priority management to cope with the volume of demand
  • Circulate platforms and encourage self development to promote the maturity of the organisation in light of the centralisation of services
