NUW Alliance: Driving Economic Innovation Through Educational Co-Location & Industry Participation

Three of Australia’s leading research-intensive universities have formed a new alliance to harness shared experience, global reach and excellence in innovation, and to create new knowledge, grow new jobs, build new businesses, and deliver the leaders of tomorrow for the workforce of the future.

The NUW Alliance, a ‘Multiversity’ commitment sees the University of Newcastle (UON), the University of New South Wales (UNSW), and the University of Wollongong (UOW) join forces to explore some of the short and long term challenges impacting NSW to generate benefits for the State as well as the broader Australian economy.

The Alliance will specialise in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and be part of the Aerotropolis precinct at Badgerys Creek in Sydney’s West. By leveraging the expertise of the three institutions, students, employees and the wider community will have unparalleled access to innovative teaching and research.

Ahead of the Future Campus Summit 2019 we chat to Matt Gijselman, Chief Executive Officer of NUW Alliance, who explores how The Alliance is creating new collaborative connections to transform research and education outcomes through strategic partnerships.
