9:15 am - 10:00 am OPENING KEYNOTE PRESENTATION The Past, Present and Future of Educational Spaces and how the iGeneration is Disruptingit ALL!

Higher Education has experienced non-linear ‘leaps’ with student body enrollment spikes, precipitated by the likes of the GI Bill, the Dot.Com boom and the inception of the current iGeneration. This is having a profound impact on how Higher Education Institutions balance the traditional educational facility design of the ‘passive learner’ to the newfound mandate of an ‘active participant’. This disruption has become the driver in a new multi-faceted approach and will be discussed in depth by a leading US Institution.

Capital Planners receive swift and ongoing project requests as Higher Education Institutions are in a never ending race to produce the highest level rankings across academics, breakthrough cutting edge research, top career placement prospects, athletics and student body satisfaction. Many institutions will naturally migrate towards one or the other. This panel will specifically pose questions on culture, facilities and long term identity across a wide array of Academic Institutions of all sizes and categorizations.
•Finding the common themes amongst the most successful Institutions in the US and the “how” they got there
•Understanding the change management necessary to create full buy-in, from even the most challenging tenured team members

5:30 pm - 6:00 pm CLOSING KEYNOTE PRESENTATION The Corporate Perspective: All this Work on Future Education Spaces - Is it Resulting in Better Employees?

We’ve discussed transformation, for example, taking a library from a ‘place where you sit quietly, study and move on’ to a ‘place where you talk, corroborate, eat and stay for as long as possible’. This is all in an attempt to better engage and provide practical real life scenarios for the future workforce to have better job prospects and employee engagement. But is it working? This unique perspective will provide the Corporate perspective on whether or not these dreams are becoming a reality and what Corporations WISH their new employees learned what to do in school and how facilities directly correlate with that!
