Afternoon

QA

3:00 pm - 5:00 pm APPLYING FORMAL TEST TECHNIQUES – A FOCUS ON TEST ANALYSIS AND DESIGN
• For those creating test plans and writing tests; building your ‘toolbox’ of experience and techniques, and knowing when to use each tool in your toolbox
• Practical real-world game project examples of applying more heavyweight manual testing techniques
• Looking at test analysis, how to decide ‘what’ you include in your test plans
• Looking at test design, figuring out ‘how’ to test the scenarios you have identified
Chris Howell - Senior QA Manager, Gram Games
Chris is an evangelist of the professional career of games quality, and has been practising the discipline of testing and management for 10 years. After starting his career in Microsoft working on Xbox and Windows 10 projects, he has spent the last 5 years with Zynga working on games-as-a-service mobile projects. Chris holds certificates at foundation and advanced levels with the International Software Testing Qualifications Board and spends a great deal of time coaching others in the discipline on how to apply formal software test techniques into gaming. He has also authored many articles on LinkedIn, detailing his experiences on how to build a successful career out of games testing and is currently working on book about modern games testing.

Localization

3:00 pm - 5:00 pm LEVEL UP YOUR LOCALIZATION GUIDELINES BY MAKING THEM RELATABLE FOR DEVELOPERS AND DESIGNERS
·         Do you ever have to deal with faulty preconceptions from your development teams about what they can and cannot do?
·         Do you come across concatenations and other tricky coding structures repeatedly, even though they cause problems for you?
·         Have your guidelines been written by linguists and you feel your developers and designers can’t relate?
·         Let’s examine together how we can approach these issues with a shift in perspective and different communication strategies!
