The energy market is becoming increasingly decentralised with DER more and more prevalent and accessible to the customer through such technologies as solar PV. The impact of this market change is seen both in strategy and operations and as a result the utility business model is having to be adapted. As part of this strategic change, assets and infrastructure usage are considered. The cost of building new assets, infrastructure and capability is set to be huge and as such utilities must understand how they can optimise existing infrastructure before they embark on any kind of expensive build.
This workshop will be an opportunity to learn from the expertise of the General Manager of Asset Strategy at Alinta Energy, Gary Bryant. He will guide you on the journey to understanding how your existing infrastructure can be leveraged to save dramatic costs and integrated into the new systems and models which the evolving market demands of the utility.
How you will benefit:
Discuss key drivers of change in the current market and impact on various areas of the evolving industry
Understand how existing assets can be leveraged in the new environment
Gain strategies of integration for new models, infrastructure and technology
Alinta Energy are working to reduce carbon emissions through experimentation with DERs and storage. They are responding to customer demands as part of a commitment to place the customer at the centre of their work. Here Gary will share this work including projects being explored in mine sites.
Integration of renewable energy and battery storage into smaller grid systems
Customer centricity: lowering emissions while supplying affordable solutions
Iron Ore mine sites: connecting to the power station battery and reducing diesel emissions
Check out the incredible speaker line-up to see who will be joining Gary.
