Just voted the 5th most desirable location to travel by Lonely Planet 2020, Lord Howe Island is a World Heritage island which advocates a sustainable approach to tourism. As an islanded grid 600 km offshore they have been on a journey to reduce carbon dependency and protect the marine and terrestrial biodiversity of the island. Here they share the journey to constructing the new grid and the technical capability needed.
