Andrea Caricato (Past Speaker)

Andrea is a Chartered Engineer with over a decade of international experience in Coastal and Maritime Engineering. He currently holds the position of Technical Principal & Practice Lead – Ports, Coastal & Offshore for Mott MacDonald. Prior to this, Andrea was employed by other international consultants in the Gulf region since 2008 and have led coastal and maritime design teams since 2009.

During his career, Andrea has been instrumental in the delivery of coastal and maritime design works from both a technical and management position and have worked on both client-side design consultancies as well as on Design & Build design contractor relationships. This includes design of breakwaters, quay walls, jetties, revetments, marinas and fishing harbours, waterfront developments, coastal management, beaches, floating pontoons, dredging and reclamation and other coastal and maritime aspects, such as navigation studies. In addition, Andrea has lead and overseen coastal numerical modelling studies dealing principally with simulation of wave climate, hydrodynamics, flushing and brine dispersion.
