Shana Berger is the Director for Information Technology Business Operations at Children’s Health in Dallas. She has over twenty-five years of healthcare financial operations experience ranging from a non-profit Hospice to Healthcare Asset Management and Healthcare Technology Management. Shana has been with Children’s Health, a 557 bed, multi-location pediatric healthcare system, for more than sixteen years. In her current role, Ms. Berger’s responsibilities include planning, directing and managing business operations for all departments within Information Services ("IS") including Biomedical Engineering, Health Information Management (HIM), all IT functions including Clinical Application Services, Business Application Services, Technical Services, Customer Service and Physician Electronic Medical Records (PEMR).  She leads efforts to design, develop and implement programs and practices to improve efficiency of key business processes, reduce unnecessary expenses, and identify opportunities to help the IS organization deliver improved services with greater cost effectiveness. She is also responsible for IT department budgeting (multi-million dollars), contract review and compliance, staffing and contract labor engagement for the Information Services Department, and she oversees the Asset Management, Change Management, and IS Communications teams.

Children’s Health began its journey with Technology Business Management in July 2018, first implementing IT Planning and then moving on to Cost Transparency.
