Brisbane’s $177 million International Cruise Terminal is set to be completed in August this year, providing the Port with a world-class cruise terminal capable of handling the largest cruise ships in the world.  Delivery of this infrastructure by the Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd has also resulted in new principles/approaches which can be utilised for future projects. In this session, Rob, Chief Engineer for the Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd, responsible for the delivery of this infrastructure, will address:

  • Creating a governance framework to provide delivery oversight
  • Procurement strategy: contracts and stakeholder interactions
  • Applying BIM technology (Building Information Modelling) to asset management as a pilot for future development at the port
  • Solutions for challenging conditions – geotechnical, marine and other
  • Operational readiness
