With the global adaption of standard automation protocols (such as IEC61850) and a migration towards 4th generation SCADA technology, Khalid Darwish will present on how utility companies are securing the right infrastructure to move towards the next era of SCADA systems.

As the fourth largest Iron Ore producer in the world, Fortescue Metal Group produces and ships around 170 million tonnes of Iron Ore per annum. With fully integrated infrastructure and supply chain spanning two mine hubs across 87,000km2, FMG is operates a large SCADA network, which ensures efficient operational productivity within the site. Chris Fischer will present on how FMG has productively extracted and utilized SCADA Data to increase productivity and maximize interoperability across the organisation.

APA Group is responsible for the operations and productivity of over 15,000 km’s of natural gas pipelines which support and provide gas to around 1.4 million Australian homes. Through a complex SCADA system, APA Group is designing system architecture that incorporates Machine Learning capabilities to enhance the collection of real-time data from sites from across the country to improve productivity. This session will highlight the importance of enhancing the efficiency of real-time data collection in order to maximize productivity.
