Bond University

Kirsty Mitchell is the Director of the Career Development Centre at Bond University and has held this role since 2006.  She has over 20 years’ experience in all aspects of careers, employment and higher education.

 

Kirsty is an innovator in the field of employability, notable projects:

-          Convenor - Beyond Bond: Professional Development and Community Engagement, 2014 – Present

-          Bond University Professional Practice Program, 2012 – 2014

-          The National Interview Challenge, 2008-2010

 

Kirsty is actively involved in the Bond, broader Gold Coast Community and Higher Education Careers Profession at both membership and leadership levels. Areas of research and expertise include Employability Award design and implementation, Evaluation of Career Development interventions, Creative employment strategies and the Interview Process.

 

Kirsty is currently undertaking a Masters of Philosophy leading into a Phd researching a career meta skill of the future – Career Adaptability.

2:20 PM CASE STUDY: How Bond University Executed a Contextualised and Centralised Ecosystem Around Employability Through a Compulsory Career Program

The Beyond Bond employability program at Bond University has contributed to improved student graduate outcomes by 9% since implementation. As part of the core curriculum this design allows students to have ongoing support throughout their whole higher education lifecycle ensuring they stay connected, have a vehicle for extracurricular opportunities, and has the best outcomes for success when transitioning into the workforce.
