8:50 AM PANEL: Creating A Data-Driven Organisational Culture

Data and analytics leaders are responsible for both information governance and data monetisation. But as a relatively new function in many organisations, data and analytics teams are under the spotlight to produce high-quality results quickly and efficiently. Beyond this, to see true value from these new technology tools, a culture of data-driven work has to be embedded within your organisation.

This foundational session will cover:
  • What new skills and roles are needed for data and analytics?
  • How can you plan for success and avoid potential pitfalls?
  • How can you embed a culture of data-driven work throughout your organization?

2:00 PM Presentation: Moving From A Centre of Excellence Data and Analytics Model to Practically Capturing Value

Wesfarmers Advanced Analytics Program is moving away from a centre of excellence model to mobilise their team to help lead practical implementation of use cases stemming from their data and analytics insights. In this session Mario will share stories from this transition from advising from data analytics insights to rolling up their sleeves and practically using them to help capture value. He’ll share insights into how they’ve made this important change and it’s impacts on how data can drive real outcomes including:

  • Moving from an advisory role towards implementing use cases and leading on-the-ground change management
  • Creating responsibility and accountability in data and analytics teams to deliver tangible returns
  • Encouraging data engineers to design in a way that can be productized and utilized on the ground
