Jareen Imam leads a global team of journalists who find, verify and report on breaking and trending news stories from around the world. Her team uses the latest digital and social technology and techniques to monitor and discover powerful stories. Her team focuses on newsgathering and investigating some of the most important news stories that the network covers. Using advance social forensics techniques, her team verifies user generated content (UGC) and viral stories. Additionally, her team manages NBC News' tips ecosystem. Her team reports and produces stories for premiere brands at NBC, which include groups and shows like Nightly News, TODAY Show, NBC partners and affiliates, and NBCUniversal digital properties. Imam also develops classes, teaches and gives talks on social media, verification and story production within NBC and beyond. She's been a guest lecturer at colleges like the University of Florida and San Francisco State University. She is also part of NBCUniversal's Asian American business resource group, on the leadership committee for the company's women's network business group and an official mentor within NBCUniversal to help grow and develop early career media professionals.
