Bassem has served for over 15 years on several National Fire Code Committees, including the UAE Fire Safety Code of Practice, Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council “Urban Street Design Manual” development committees, and as a skilled team leader, trainer & inventor

Bassem earned a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from the High Institute for Architecture & Business Administration Technology in Cairo, Egypt in the year 2000.

He has served for over 15 years on several National Fire Code Committees, including the UAE Fire Safety Code of Practice, Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council "Urban Street Design Manual" development committees, and as a skilled team leader, trainer & Inventor. In 2013 Abu Dhabi Civil Defense, U.A.E Ministry of Interior awarded him with the "The Excellence Award & Medal ofHonor," The highest award bestowed by UAE M.O.I for outstanding contributions to Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Department.

Mr. Khalil is certified with NFPA’s various certifications such as CFPS, CFI1, CFPE. In addition to these, he is considered as the NFPA’s world's first Lead Life Safety Code 101, Arab Speaking instructor.
