In 2016, Vicinity Centres repositioned their community program from a philanthropic approach supporting numerous causes to one of true community investment focused on the single cause of disengaged and unemployed youth – a prevent issue in the local communities in which they operate and one often impacting on the consumer experience at their centres.
- Entering into a 3 year corporate community partnership with Beacon Foundation, who work on the preventative side of this issue to keep youth engaged in secondary school to successfully transition to meaningful employment.
- Running a number of targeted centre based programs to connect local youth with education, training and job opportunities.
