Shepherd Center is a private, not-for-profit catastrophic care hospital in Atlanta, Ga., specializing in TBI, spinal cord injury, chronic pain and other neuromuscular injuries/illnesses. SHARE Initiative, a specialized program within Shepherd Center, is a collaborative effort between Mr.
Bernie Marcus, co-founder of Home Depot, Humana Military Healthcare Services and Shepherd to provide a continuum of rehabilitation evaluation and treatment services for OEF/OIF active duty troops or veterans who have sustained brain injury, spinal cord injury or blast injury, in conflict or stateside. The grant allows provision for medical rehabilitation and necessary services not covered by insurance, in order to promote a successful return to military or civilian life.
