Explore the Campus Development Innovations Driving Superior Student Experiences and Graduate Success
In a globally
competitive operating environment and faced with a continued government funding
freeze, Australian Universities are tasked with reassessing their current
approach to campus master planning if they are to deliver on their strategic
goals.
As universities explore new and innovative ways to attract and retain students, in recent years, and due to the shifting attitudes of Gen Z students, we’ve seen a transformation of the traditional campus with a new focus not just on academic success, but on student engagement and crucially, on the overall student experience which includes career opportunities.
Gen Z-ers also see technology as an
extension of themselves with respect to how they communicate, consume
information, and learn. No generation is a monolith, and research on Gen Z is
just emerging. But campus leaders must pay attention, as this new generation
coincides with a shrinking pool of high-school graduates and increased
expectations for student success.
With insights from Monash University, the University of Queensland and Melbourne University in this report we explore how the university campus itself can act as an enabler of these student experiences through innovations in construction, technology, and design which is opening the academic campus up to collaborative opportunities with industry partners.
