Sustainability Engagement Coordinator – Building Tune-Up City of Sydney

Conference Day Two: Wednesday, 4 December 2019

12:10 PM City of Sydney’s Building Tune-Up Program: Maximising Comfort, Savings and Reliability of Commercial Buildings

Commercial buildings, from hotels, offices to retail outlets, are responsible for approximately 10% of Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions. As part of advocating for sustainable buildings in the Sydney CBD, the City of Sydney developed the Building Tune- Up Program to support building owners and facilities managers to think about retrofitting opportunities that will bring cost-effective building performance improvements. This may include optimising building management systems, improving maintenance methods and reducing energy, water and waste. This session will look closer into City of Sydney’s program, including:

  • How to identify priority actions and plans to take a step forward and retrofit your building with sustainability in mind
  • Creating a strategic partnership to help with educating building owners and facilities managers and understand the type of issues they’re dealing with
  • Leveraging data analytics systems to help turn data into actionable outcomes
  • How environmental performance ratings help to drive improvements and savings
