S/4 HANA offers significantly more flexible and user-friendly reporting options directly in the

ERP system, e.g. through analysis for office, SAP analytics cloud and the web-based FIORI

frontend. However, for successful change management it is paramount to have the right

reporting and analytics team: Specialists for CDS technology & the HANA database

(e.g., PlanViz) plus strong communicators as business users for new reporting tools. As a

result, complex, customer-specific, virtual data models (CDS technology) are basically feasible;

Performance experts can ensure highperformance runtime for end users.

It should be noted, that the S4 HANA reporting toolbox comprises elements of old technology

(e.g. BEX Query Designer) and new technologies (e.g. Custom Analytical Queries); some of the

new tools (Powerusertools for in-app visualization in FIORI, e.g. Analytical List Page) are still

immature. In this masterclass you will be guided through the end-to-end implementation of

reporting requirements, while questions on both the technology and the team aspect are

invited at any time.
