Principal Robotics Scientist The ARM Institute

Joseph Andrew Giampapa, Principal Robotics Scientist, The ARM Institute, creates technical development programs that can transform manufacturing through the application of robotics, AI, and advanced automation. Mr. Giampapa has led industrial and government-sponsored R&D projects for Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in autonomous ground vehicles, the rapid task re-adaptation of manufacturing robots, cybersecurity for power transmission grids, advanced system of systems engineering, and autonomous agents and multi-agent systems. As a product manager for three of Olivetti’s artificial intelligence product lines, he led European Community R&D projects as well as provided solutions to international government, manufacturing, and industrial clients. Mr. Giampapa holds a Master of Science in Language Technologies from Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science.
