4:35 PM CASE STUDY: Pembroke’s T&G Building on Collins Street: Refurbishing a 1928 Heritage Building to Reposition and Bring Up to Modern Standards

Though originally built in 1928, the T&G Building on Collins Street had not seen an extensive refurbishment since 1991. As part of the acquisition of the building, Pembroke delivered a refurbishment of the heritage building to help reposition and bring up to modern standards and create an A-Grade commercial precinct. The 43 000 sqm building carefully restored 10 levels of office space through a focus on providing state-of-the-art facilities and amenities for tenants and exceptional design improvements to boost the environmental performance of the building. In this session, Matthew will discuss:

  • Ensuring a long term view on ownership to assist with the strategic direction and design of the building and help define how the building will be repositioned and rebranded
  • Using retail market research to deliver advance on how to design ground plans and the overall vicinit according to tenant and public ne
  • Providing third-space amenity: Creating a central atrium as an atmospheric destination for people to gather, relax and engage as a business community
