Cynthia Kretz has spent more than 25 years as a general counsel changing how legal serves the business. As Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Cook Group Incorporated and Cook Medical Holdings, she leads the global legal and intellectual property teams and directs strategy on the company's largest and most complex litigation. She works where law, operations, and risk converge, serving on Cook's Data Governance Steering Committee, Executive Security and Data Response Team, and Responsible AI Committee. She has built legal teams that are rigorous in the law and fluent in the business. Legal had the first use case taken through Cook's AI governance process: a plug-in that drafts specific agreements, flags those needing Legal's review, and is designed to scale to other functions, agreements, and the enterprise. A Shirley's Legacy honoree for mentoring the next generation of female and minority leaders in the law, she is also a Distinguished Alumni Award recipient from Indiana University.
