Chief Legal Officer and Secretary Petco

As Chief Legal Officer and Secretary, Giovanni leads all aspects of Petco’s legal department, including ESG and DEI. Since joining the company in 2021, he has made meaningful contributions, consistently assuming increased responsibility over multiple aspects of the company’s legal function. Prior to serving as Chief Legal Officer, Giovanni was Vice President, Legal Securities and M&A. He guided Petco through its initial public offering in 2021 and has been instrumental in leading the organization’s successful securities, M&A, compliance, and governance teams. An accomplished in-house counsel with a demonstrated history of building high-performing teams, Giovanni brings deep knowledge and expertise in various areas of the law. Prior to joining Petco, he served as Assistant General Counsel at InterDigital, Inc. Giovanni started his career at White & Case in New York City. Giovanni holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pittsburgh and a J.D. from University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.
