Head of Data Governance Munich Re Specialty

Sarah is the Head of Data Governance for Munich Re Specialty. Sarah is an experienced business and programme director specialising in the design and implementation of data strategies, data governance, management, privacy, AI and ethics frameworks. Sarah is the co-author of the Data Governance insurance industry whitepaper, launched September 2025 and plays an active role in data thought leadership and roundtables. Sarah is a member of Women in Data, the WomanWise, Stacked Pathways and PEERConnect Mentoring programmes and sees great value in supporting women pursuing their careers in data.

Prior to Munich Re Sarah was the Group Data Operations Director for Aviva plc where she established the Data Governance and Data Privacy Group level functions, frameworks, operating models, governance, risk and control arrangements. Sarah has also worked in similar roles, leading global transformations within Barclays, Lloyds, the Royal Bank of Scotland and the Woolwich.
