I’m a senior engineering leader who thrives on scaling engineering cultures and building platforms that empower teams to excel.
With over 20 years’ experience, I’ve led large-scale engineering transformations — from modernising legacy technology to enhancing developer experience and creating frameworks for high-performing, self-sufficient teams. My approach combines deep technical expertise with a people-first mindset, ensuring that as teams grow, they become more autonomous and able to sustain success long after I’ve moved on.
Most recently at Marks & Spencer, I’ve led a £30m platform engineering portfolio, maturing internal developer platforms and embedding DevOps practices to reduce costs and improve reliability. Prior to that, I spent 17 years at Yell and Hibu, spearheading digital transformation, cloud migrations, and search and recommendation platforms.
As AI shifts from experimentation to embedded functionality, engineering leaders face a new paradigm in how developer tools and platforms are built, deployed, and measured. This panel brings together experts building AI-powered developer applications to explore the operational, architectural, and cultural shifts required to make AI work in practice.
Developer adoption isn’t automatic-no matter how powerful your platform is. The most successful platform engineering teams treat developers as customers, designing clear, intuitive “paved roads” that streamline common workflows while supporting broader innovation. This session focuses on how to define, build, and continuously evolve those pathways to drive real adoption and trust.
