When Space Design Influences the Reskilling of the Workforce

When Space Design Influences the Reskilling of the Workforce

Check out last year's presentation from Brooks Jacobsen, Department Supervisor, Robotics & Electronic Systems Technology, Lake Area Technical Institute on When Space Design Influences the Reskilling of the Workforce

For years, the cry has been that, “Robots will take my job,” but reality is that jobs in automation are the jobs of the future. So, what does this all mean for institutions of higher ed in the context of space? They are having to reconsider how and where they are educating their students. In just the last few years Lake Area Technical Institute has to stay with the times like many other institutions of higher ed.

In this session, participants:

  • Explore the strategies that were employed to stay agile when educating a technical workforce
  • Examine some of the trends that technical schools have experienced in redesigning both space and online curriculum to meet the needs of their students
  • Identify how one school was able to partner with the community to take reskilling to the next level
