Matthew Fenselau is Chief Licensing Officer & General Counsel for Nanoramic, Inc. in Boston, MA. Mr. Fenselau is responsible for the development and commercialization of Nanoramic’s intellectual property portfolio, with an emphasis on strategic technology collaborations and technology transfer and licensing. Mr. Fenselau also manages Nanoramic’s legal department, overseeing a variety of functions including corporate transactions, governance, and litigation management. Mr. Fenselau joined Nanoramic in 2014 and has overseen the development of the company’s IP portfolio and IP commercialization programs. Recently, Mr. Fenselau managed the development and sale of a thermal materials IP portfolio to Henkel, a global leader in high tech specialty materials. Mr. Fenselau also served as lead corporate and IP counsel in the negotiation of strategic investment by GM Ventures, Samsung Ventures, Top Material, Ltd., and Itochu Corporation in Nanoramic to support collaborations focused on joint development and commercialization of Nanoramic’s proprietary Neocarbonix® at the Core electrode technology across multiple industries. Mr. Fenselau graduated from Franklin & Marshall College (B.A., in Physics & Mathematics) and Yale University (M.S., M.Phil., in Physics) and obtained his J.D. from Boston College law school. Prior to joining Nanoramic Mr. Fenselau was in private practice at law firms including Fish & Richardson and Foley & Lardner, where he focused on patent prosecution, IP portfolio management, and IP due diligence in support of venture capital transactions. Mr. Fenselau is a member of the Northeast Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel, where he serves on the Next Gen committee, developing programming for lawyers new to in-house practice.
