Senior Global Government Affairs and Access, ex Novartis and Founder of the WEF Strategic PPPs Initiative for Cardiovascular Health

With 25 years of distinguished career in global health policy, Lena has recently led strategic initiatives to elevate cardiovascular disease (CVD) on global platforms such as the World Economic Forum. Her leadership at Novartis has been instrumental in driving policy changes across diverse markets and in establishing the EFPIA CV Health Platform, enhancing industry collaboration. Her earlier career at GlaxoSmithKline and at Burson-Marsteller Consultancy in Brussels reflect her extensive experience in shaping the market for vaccines, diabetes and rare diseases to broaden access and accelerate uptake of innovation. Her Government Affairs tenure in Greece during the 2010 economic crisis gave her the opportunity to shape healthcare reforms for the industry under the Troika Memorandum of Understanding. She was also a pioneer in pandemic preparedness in 2007-2009 well before COVID. Lena has a passion for advancing public private partnerships through strategic leadership and advocacy to create value for health systems and patients. Lena holds a BA in Journalism with a Certification in Value Based Healthcare from HBS.
