A Master Mariner and MBA with over 30 years’ experience relating to the offshore submarine cable industry. Operational experience of plough and trenching/ROV operations; fibre optic, power, umbilical and flexible pipe installation; remedial works; burial and bridge operations. Onshore experience includes Project Construction and installation management, equipment development, capital budget management, system support and Engineering, as well as Bid Management and Sales. Installed and managed over 40,000 km of submarine fibre optic cables and 2,500 km of submarine power cables worldwide. Eckhard Bruckschen is also the Managing Director/Editor of SubCableNews. He founded SubCableNews in 2002, when the dotcom bubble burst was starting. However, since then and despite the challenges, SCN went from strength to strength and is now an established Newsletter in the submarine cable marketplace.
