The exponential rise in Asia’s digital economy has underscored the critical role of subsea optic fibre cables in sustaining high-speed internet connectivity across the region. This report offers a strategic overview of Asia’s undersea cable landscape, focusing on legal governance, deployment initiatives, infrastructure, and investment dynamics—with particular emphasis on Singapore’s central role. Asia’s regulatory environment remains diverse, with coastal nations adopting varying policies for cable deployment, permitting, and security.
