The Victorian Agency for Health Information (VAHI) was established in 2017 as part of the Victorian Government’s reforms to overhaul quality and safety across Victoria’s healthcare system. It is the first agency its kind in Australia.
For the past three years, VAHI has been on a mission to deliver trusted information to health services, health practitioners and consumers, to inform better decisions that improve health and wellbeing of Victorians. This session will explore:
Improving quality, safety and performance of healthcare through effective use of ‘big linked data’
Overcoming challenges associated with data privacy and how the release of public health service performance data can impact clinical care, quality improvement, health service performance and consumer behaviour
The current state of Quality and safety across Victorian hospitals – what’s the prognosis? Are we improving, worsening, or standing still?
