Dr. Inge Lotsberg

Specialist Engineer DNV Norway

Ph. D from The University of Trondheim in 1977: Finite Element Analysis of Some Problems in Fracture Mechanics. Worked in DNV since1979 with design and verification of offshore structures, development of structural design standards for DNV, Norwegian Petroleum Directorate, ISO and NORSOK. Worked with research and development projects which included analytical work on capacity of steel structures and grouted connections, laboratory fatigue testing, and development of fatigue design standards and a standard for probabilistic methods for planning of inspection for fatigue cracks. Author and coauthor of more than 140 conference and journal papers. Author of “Fatigue Design of Marine Structures” in 2016. A revised second edition including a new chapter on fatigue analysis of wind turbine support structures is being published by Cambridge University Press in 2026.
