Florian Sayer

Florian Sayer is a seasoned expert in renewable energy and energy transition, with over 15 years of experience specifically in wind turbine blades. He currently serves as the Head of the Business Unit Energy at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials IFAM. He has extensive leadership experience in fiber composite materials, sub-component testing, and rotor blade manufacturing at the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems IWES. Florian has led numerous projects related to composite materials, leading edge protection, wind turbine blade reliability, and the validation of structural composite components. He holds a Diploma Degree in Production Engineering from the University of Bremen and received his PhD from Leibniz University Hannover, focusing on the structural reliability of wind turbine blade bond lines.
