Nicolas Michelet
Research Scientist & Project Manager France Energies Marines
With more than 10 years’ experience, Nicolas Michelet has been a Research Scientist and Project Manager at France Energies Marines since 2019. In this role, he focuses on the offshore wind sector, with particular emphasis on understanding and assessing the environmental impacts of such installations. In addition to studying the influence of wind turbine foundations on the migration of marine dunes, Nicolas has worked with his colleagues to develop an innovative methodology that combines numerical modelling and risk analysis. This approach is used to assess the environmental impact of contaminant dispersion arising from offshore hydrogen production or corrosion protection systems. He is currently managing the PEARL project, which aims to improve understanding of the risks associated with chemical substances released by corrosion protection systems and by the synthetic mooring lines.
