Director Scams Data & Disruption ACCC
Alex has a diverse history fighting scams and fraud in government across several agencies. He led the Cybercrime Threat Discovery function at the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) and developed a passionate dislike for scammers preying on our most vulnerable community members. He left the ACIC for the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission in 2018, leading the scams analysis function of Scamwatch. He is currently the Director of Scams Data and Disruption within the National Anti-Scam Centre, focusing on practical activities, much of them utilising cooperation with the private sector, to lessen the impact of scams on Australians.
