Astrid Naumann

Astrid Naumann is the EMEA Lead and Director of Global Legal Services at VMware, a virtualization and Cloud Computing software vendor headquartered in Palo Alto, California. She is a highly experienced commercial lawyer and organizational leader with a track record of 25 years in the IT Industry, having a strong focus on commercial contracting in the field of Cloud Computing. Prior to joining VMware in 2019, Astrid worked as inhouse counsel at Sun Microsystems, followed by some years in private practice, and then had a tenure of 13 years at Avaya. Next to her leadership role in EMEA, Astrid recently led a global initiative to introduce a streamlined, company-wide risk matrix, and she is a member of a “legal tiger team” that radically simplified the VMware template landscape into a customer-friendly, one-fits-all “ONE Customer Contract” that received international accolades. Ever since 2016, Astrid has led 100% virtual legal teams across large regions, and she is proud to live the VMware Future of Work values in her everyday work. Astrid is admitted to the Berlin bar, in the vibrant city that became her home 25 years ago.
